Prevention is a way to avoid an injury, sickness, or disease, and generally it fails to help anyone who is already affected by the illness. Prevention takes place on three levels; they are primary, secondary and tertiary prevention levels. Knowledge of prevention helps in reducing the burden of mortality or morbidity from that particular disease. Like in case you do have an adequate knowledge regarding heart attack prevention or diabetes prevention then the chances of mortality or morbidity from heart attack or diabetes can be averted. Similarly by knowing a few guidelines of stroke prevention, a life threatening disease like stroke can be avoided.
